Eaton Named 2014 Channel Champion by CRN, Earns Overall Winner in Power Protection and Management Category

Eaton is first to break previous winner’s 20-year streak as overall category champ

March 5, 2014 … Eaton is proud to announce the company was named the 2014 Channel Champion by CRN in the overall category of Power Protection and Management during a special awards ceremony at the XChange Solution Provider conference on March 4 in Los Angeles, Calif. Breaking a multi-decade winning streak, Eaton is the first new overall winner in this category in twenty years. The selection validates Eaton’s continued growth and unparalleled commitment to information technology (IT) channel programs and partners.

The CRN Channel Champions survey is the largest and broadest-based technology integrator market study in the industry, measuring IT solution providers’ overall perceptions of vendor products and services across 31 technology categories. In addition to defining which vendors are leading the way in partner satisfaction, the scores – including year-to-year comparisons – also provide a snapshot of the competitive dynamics in each category.

“For more than 30 years, CRN has been an advocate for the IT channel community, producing invaluable content and resources to help solution providers and vendors navigate the IT channel market effectively,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. “CRN’s Channel Champions project serves as an industry benchmark, highlighting the vendors that understand and best meet the needs of today’s solution providers, despite a changing and dynamic IT landscape. This list defines the 'best of the best' among the vendor community today, and we congratulate the winners on this well-deserved honor.”

Eaton’s top recognition in the Power Protection and Management Category, as well as winning awards in two out of the three subcategories – Financial Satisfaction and Support Satisfaction, builds on the company’s growing acknowledgment in CRN’s distinguished awards program:

2011 CRN Channel Champions Awards:
o Financial Satisfaction Subcategory Winner

2013 CRN Channel Champions Awards:
o Financial Satisfaction Subcategory Winner
o Support Satisfaction Subcategory Winner

2014 CRN Channel Champions Awards:
o Overall Category Winner
o Financial Satisfaction Subcategory Winner
o Support Satisfaction Subcategory Winner

“Winning the overall category is a hard-earned achievement, and the great recognition our channel program has received reflects Eaton’s consistent commitment in addressing the ever-changing challenges, needs and motivations of today’s solution providers,” said Hervé Tardy, vice president, IT Channel – Americas, Eaton. “We are honored that the channel continues to place its trust in Eaton’s vision and we look forward to continuing to advance our program and solutions to help our partners demonstrate the business value of power management.”

Launched five years ago, Eaton’s PowerAdvantage™ Partner Program continues to provide resellers with the tools to deliver greater business value to customers and maximize revenues within the key growth segments of power and energy efficiency.

New programs in 2013 focused on rewarding, educating and supporting reseller partners. UPSgrade was launched to reward partners for upgrading their customer’s data center infrastructure and provide free, environmentally sound disposal of outgrown equipment. Eaton also sought to optimize its PowerAdvantage Loyalty Program by providing resellers with helpful information on power management best practices. A new concierge marketing program also allows Eaton’s Channel Marketing team to become an extension of a partner’s marketing department, providing lead generation services through content creation.
