Eaton Extends 9395 UPS To Optimize Power Performance And Efficiency For Large Data Centers

MORGES, Switzerland … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced a new and extended power rating for its industry-leading 9395 uninterruptible power system (UPS) in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The 825kVA system offers unmatched power performance and efficiency for large data centres and addresses changing power requirements by providing simple and cost-saving scalability.

The Eaton 9395 825 kVA UPS, part of the Powerware® series, follows the innovative capabilities introduced to the market with the successful 2007 launch of the 275 and 550 kVA systems. The UPS has been widely adopted in organizations around the world as varied as financial institutions, telecom companies, research and medical facilities and manufacturing sites where data processing, storage and power protection are critical to business continuity.

“With the information and data explosion associated with online transactions, Internet applications and overall data centre growth, our customers are asking for more powerful UPS solutions to support their critical business processes,” said Jorma Mannerkoski, director, sales and marketing for the Power Quality business of Eaton’s Electrical Group in EMEA. “With the introduction of our 825 kVA model, the Eaton 9395 meets today’s need for more powerful systems but also allows our customers to efficiently power their data centres regardless of actual load levels.”

In today’s environment where data centre growth can be unpredictable, the 9395 allows users to make upgrades in the field by adding additional modules for system redundancy or to provide additional capacity. The Eaton 9395 provides this scalability through its patented Hot Sync® technology that has been deployed for more than 20 years.

The 9395 825 kVA also furthers Eaton’s commitment to offering sustainable solutions to its customers by providing industry-leading efficiency and a design that does not include a transformer. Without a transformer, the UPS weighs less and offers significant space savings. The 9395 also offers simplified commissioning with easy load test capabilities. This functionality provides users the unique ability to test the entire power train under full load stress without the requirement of an external load, eliminating the energy consumption and costly expense associated with external loads or load banks.

The Eaton 9395 825 kVA UPS will be available for shipment in January 2009. To learn more about the 9395 visit our Web site at www.eaton.com/powerware.
