Eaton’s reliability, ethical values and good business relationship with Dan:office were deciding factors in supplier selection.
Dan:office and Eaton Power Quality have signed a framework agreement for delivering 30,000 Eaton 5115 UPS units, part of the Powerware series, to the United Nations over a three-year period. The contract was signed in April 2008 and the first delivery took place in July 2008. These Eaton UPSs will ensure power quality and continuity at the UN’s offices around the world.
The Eaton 5115 matches the UN’s needs perfectly: It weighs just 13 kilograms – five kilograms less than the competing UPS which the UN had previously been using. This is important because the UPSs are usually shipped by airfreight to different locations around the world, and the more compact size leads to significant cost savings for the UN.
Danish company Dan:office is one of the leading suppliers of IT, information systems and communication equipment to the UN around the world. Excellent service is one of the major reasons for the long-term partnership.
“Before a shipment to a United Nations office, we unpack, test and label every UPS. Understanding our customers’ needs and delivering the right products, services and support where and when they are needed is a great added value,” says Per E. E. Svehag, CEO of Dan:office.
“This philosophy is in line with the way Eaton Power Quality operates: We can rely on Eaton’s ability to offer service and support even within a short time frame. Furthermore, the United Nations appreciates ethical values and behaviour from its suppliers. Thus Eaton is a perfect match.”
