Installation and use

Protection Box PowerLine 85 or 200 must be used:

either with one or several other Protection Box PowerLine (85 with 85, 200 with 200)
or with one or several HomePlug PowerLine adapters available on the market (see compatibility table below)

For optimized operation of the PowerLine technology, it is recommended to install your product as follow:

plug Protection Box PowerLine directly on a wall outlet
plug all equipment on the Protection Box outlets which are not "PLC-Ready" marked : those outlets are indeed able to stop perturbations coming from some equipment (such as small power supply, chargers, etc ....) that can weaken the PowerLine signal.

Protection Box PowerLine is based on DEVOLO dLAN technology:

Protection Box PowerLine 200 is using DEVOLO dLAN 200 AVeasy technology (HomePlug AV compatible)
Protection Box PowerLine 85 is using DEVOLO dLAN Highspeed Ethernet (85 Mbits) technology (HomePlug 1.1 compatible)

There are several PowerLine technologies available on the market. Use this compatibility table to make sure you connect Protection Box powerLine with a compatible PowerLine adapter (Your installation needs at least 2 components):

Encryption

It is possible to activate security for your PowerLine network:

on Protection Box PowerLine 200 : once your Protection Box PowerLine is connected, press the encryption button for 2s. Within 2 minutes, press the encryption button the other Protection Box PowerLine 200 or the other DEVOLO dLAN 200 AVeasy adapter on your network. For more details, check: http://www.devolo.com/
