(2 days in length)

A. Course Description

This course was designed to train customers to perform routine operations of the UPS and to identify alarm conditions. The course discusses fundamentals of operation and identification of critical system failures. Operation of the equipment is described in lecture/discussion sessions supplemented with hands-on sessions in our 15,000 square foot UPS laboratory. While power flow, UPS controls, and alarm functions are discussed, course emphasis is on practical application. Morning lecture/discussion sessions are followed by afternoon application sessions in a training laboratory environment.

B. Course Objective

A student participating in the Eaton 9155 (8-15 kVA) UPS course will practice the following:
  • Operate the UPS in a reverse transfer configuration
  • Operate the UPS in a parallel configuration
  • Perform initial failure alarm identification of the UPS
  • Secure the critical load after a major failure
  • Perform daily and monthly preventive maintenance checks
